The seventh and eighth grade Salem Football Tigers faced off with the Mountain Grove Panthers this past Thursday in Mountain Grove. Seventh grade fell 54-7 while eighth grade fell in a close 24-22 game. Both Tiger teams find themselves at 1-1 on the year.

Assistant Salem High School Principal, Clay Moody has informed KSMO Media and Your World Today that the JV Football game between Thayer and Salem scheduled for this evening has been canceled. A specific reason was not given other than it was at the request of Thayer. 

The Salem Football Tigers fell to the Thayer Bobcats Friday night, 61-26. Headlining the night was the Bobcats rushing attack that dominated the Salem Tigers with three different Bobcats rushing for over 100 yards and a total team rushing attack that accounted for 435 yards. For Salem, Jake Gover led the backfield for Salem with 67 yards on six carries while, through the air, DuBois tallied 116 yards on four completions. The Tigers are looking to bounce back at home this Friday against the Ava Bears.

The Lady Volleyball Tigers will host Summersville tonight starting with the JV contest at 5:30 with the varsity match to follow. The varsity contest can be heard on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and FM 95.7) and video streamed on KSMO Media (ksmoradio.com). The broadcast starts with Tiger Talk and Coach Mackenzie Stoner around 6:45.

The Bunker Lady Volleyball Eagles dropped five straight sets between their JV and Varsity contests against the Eminence Redwings on Thursday. During the Cabool Invitational Tournament the Lady Eagles went 1-3-1. The Bunker Lady Volleyball Eagles will have a varsity only contest tonight against Lesterville starting at 5:30.

Austin Simmons went 10 of 19 for 91 yards and one touchdown while Jamal Roberts averaged 5.8 yards per carry for 128 yards as the Mizzou Tigers defeated the Troy Trojans on Saturday, 27-17. The Tigers will be at Mississippi State Saturday night starting at 6:45.

The St. Louis Blues fell to the Dallas Stars, 2-1 on Saturday to begin their preseason schedule. They’ll face the Stars the first Friday in October to officially start the regular season.

The St. Louis Cardinals have been officially eliminated from playoff contention and had their last home game in Busch Stadium for the 2026 season, defeating the Washington Nationals, 5-3. The Cardinals have the day off today.
