The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers trailed two sets to none Tuesday night at the SHS Gym, then battled to beat the Eminence Lady Redwings, three sets to two. Eminence took the first two sets, 25-18 and 26-24, but Salem responded with a 27-25 win in the 3rd set to stay alive. In the 4th set, Paisley May served the first eight points of the game and the Tigers were never challenged, as they won 25-14. In the 5th set, the game was tied at 8-8 when the Lady Tigers outlasted Eminence by taking advantage of an ace by Josie Howard and block kill by Allison Walters to win, 15-10. Salem is 2-1 on the year. At Owensville Thursday night, the Freshman contest will be at 4:30, the JV competition at 5:30, and the varsity match at 7:00.

The Salem JV Lady Volleyball Tigers beat Eminence in two straight sets, 25-13 and 25-5 to improve to 2-0 on the year.

The Bunker Lady Volleyball Eagles lost another heartbreaker last Friday at Valley. After winning the first set, 25-22, the Lady Eagles dropped the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-20. Bunker came back to take the fourth set, 25-23. But, in the 5th and final set, Valley took on the Lady Eagles, 15-13, to win the match. The Lady Eagles will host Arcadia Valley Thursday, with the JV match at 5:00, followed by the varsity match. The varsity contest will be streamed on KSMO Media starting around 6:15.

The Bunker Cross County teams will be at Clearwater this afternoon at 4:00 for their next meet.

The St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants played game two of a three game series last night in Oracle Park. It was all Giants early, going up 2-0 by the end of the second. Late in the top of the ninth, Bryan Torres hit a single to bring home Nathan Church, and the Red Birds avoided the shutout but not the loss, falling 2-1. The Cardinals are going to try to avoid the sweep this afternoon on KSMO Radio with live pregame coverage starting at 1:50.
