Obituaries – Tuesday, August 25th, 2026

Eleanor Larson, previously of Salem, passed away Saturday, August 22, at the age of 92. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Salem Chapel of James & Gahr Mortuary. A reception for family and friends will follow at the James & Gahr Community Center at 7:00. Interment will be in her home state of South Dakota.

Funeral Services for Charles Gordon Younce, Sr., age 78, will be Friday at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville. Memorials may be made to the Martin-Trask Cemetery, P.O. Box 92, Steelville, MO 65565.

Funeral Services for Sonja Farrar, age 78, of Salem, will be held at 1:00 Saturday afternoon in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Burial to follow in the Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 in the morning until service time at the chapel.

Celebration of Life Services for Joyce Fern (Sisco) Brisco of Salem, age 84 will be Friday, Sept. 4th, at 12:00 noon at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time.
