The St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds played a doubleheader yesterday afternoon. In game one Alec Burleson doubled in the first, batting in Joshua Báez and Iván Herrera. The Reds responded with a solo home run in the fourth and the Cardinals held on to take game one, 2-1. Then during game two, an Iván Herrera home run and Masyn Winn RBI single in the fourth gave the Cardinals a one run lead. In the sixth inning, a pair of Cardinals runs and a trio of Reds runs tied the game up at four. By the end of the ninth the game was still tied forcing extra innings. In the tenth, the Red’s Elly De La Cruz hit a walk-off single for the 6-5 final over the Cardinals.
