Salem High School Volleyball Coach Mackenzie Stoner has announced that tryouts will be held for the high school volleyball team starting Monday, Aug. 10th and lasting through Wednesday, Aug. 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 each evening. The tryouts will be held at the high school gym, and players will receive a results letter at the end of the tryouts Wednesday.

The St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees faced several delays prior to and during their game including a pair of stadium blackouts in the first inning. Zeros peppered the board until in the fifth a pair of doubles from JJ Wetherholt and Iván Herrera gave the Red Birds a three-run advantage that held for the remainder of the night. The Cardinals gained a 3-1 victory over the Yankees and took the series 2-1. After playing twenty games in a row since the All-Star Break, the Cardinals have a day off today.
