Not since the 1977 season have the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Chicago Cubs by a sixteen run margin or more. On Friday, the Cardinals opened up a three game series against the Cubs scoring runs in six of the nine innings and trouncing Chicago, 17-1. Then on Saturday, JJ Wetherholt took the first pitch of the game and hit it out of the park, setting the stage for a 3-0 shutout of the Cubs. Yesterday, the Cubs were trying to avoid a shutout and led the Cardinals by a pair of runs when Jordan Walker hit a three-run home run in the sixth. Chicago rallied back and held off the Red Birds, 6-4. The Cardinals are returning home to host the Milwaukee Brewers live tonight on KSMO Radio 1340 AM & 95.7 FM. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:50 and first pitch is scheduled to follow at 6:45.
