Friday night JJ Wetherholt hit a very rare inside-the-park grand slam as the Cardinals shutout the Padres 6-0. On Saturday the Padres faired much better and turned five hits into four runs, defeating the Cardinals, 4-2. Yesterday afternoon a two-run home run from Jordan Walker in the fourth wasn’t enough to put away the Padres as Nick Castellanos returned the favor late in the ninth to force extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth the Padres hit a walk off sacrifice fly to complete the rally, 3-2 and split the four game series. The Cardinals have the day off today before starting a three game series in West Sacramento against the Athletics tomorrow night.
