The Salem Tennis Tiger captured back to back SCA Championships Thursday at the Salem City Park winning the SCA Tournament. The Willow Springs Bears took 2nd place with Mountain Grove coming in 3rd place and Houston taking 4th place. Braiden Gapsch was named to the All SCA Conference 1st Team team while Blayne Canaday was named to the All SCA Conference 2nd Team. Congratulations Tigers!!

The Salem Tennis makeup match with Licking will be today at the Salem City Park starting at 4:00.

The Salem Baseball Tigers committed six fielding errors and a 7th inning base running blunder that helped contribute to a 10-9 loss to the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles Thursday in SCA Conference play. Sylis Dubois, Maison Sanders and Dannon Berry each had two hits for Salem and Hayden Ragsdale had two RBI for Salem who rallied from an early 3-1 deficit to take the lead, 5-4. The Eagles then scored five runs in the 5th inning courtesy of three Salem errors and even though Salem scored four more runs, they could not overcome the Eagles. The Tigers fall to 2-3 in the SCA Conference and 5-8 overall. Salem is scheduled to be at Waynesville today at 4:30. The game will NOT be aired on KSMO due to prior commitments.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers scored six runs in the 2nd inning and seven more in the 4th inning to defeated Mountain Grove Thursday, 13-1. Salem banged out 13 hits with three each from Maddie Mercer and Shaylee Thomas. Bailey Mahurin drove in three runs with Thomas, Mercer and Alaina Norris each driving in two runs. Salem is now 4-2 in the SCA Conference and 12-4 on the year. Salem will host their softball classic starting at 3:15 this afternoon with Salem playing Steelville and Ava playing Licking.

There will be a varsity track meet Saturday morning at 10:00 at Mountain Grove. 

The St. Louis Cardinals will start a three game home series against the Seattle Mariners this evening at 7:15. You can listen to this game live on KSMO Radio with pregame coverage set to begin at 6:20. The series continues over the weekend, with game two scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and the finale on Sunday. Both games will start at 1:15, with KSMO’s radio coverage beginning at 12:20 each afternoon.
