Dannon Berry pitched a two-hitter going the distance as the Salem Baseball Tigers beat Thayer Monday, 6-1. Berry struck out eight and walked two as the only run scored against him was on an error. Salem had only one hit, a pop fly two-run RBI single by Kahne Barred, but they took advantage of five walks, five hit batsmen and four Thayer errors. Salem improves to 5-6 on the year and 2-2 in the SCA Conference. The Tigers will host St. Clair today starting at 4:30 at the SHS Baseball Field Complex. The game will NOT be aired on KSMO Media as they will be covering Lady Tiger Softball.

The Salem JV Baseball Tigers fell to the Thayer JV Bobcats Monday as they scored two runs in the top of the 3rd inning, 2-1. The JV Tigers fall to 3-4 on the year and they will play St. Clair tonight after the varsity contest.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will host the Steelville Lady Cardinals today at 4:30 at the Salem City Park. The game will be broadcast on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM) and video streamed on KSMO Media (ksmoradio.com, KSMO Stream Facebook and KSMO YouTube) starting at 4:15 with Tiger Talk and Coach Jim Moore.

The Salem Tennis Tigers beat Potosi Monday afternoon at the Salem City Park, 8-1; then beat the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles at the park by another 8-1 score. On Friday, the Tigers took 3rd Place in the Rolla High School Central Missouri Classic in Rolla on Friday The Tennis Tigers lost to Rolla, 5-0, then the Tigers shutout Smith-Cotton, 5-0. In the 3rd Place match, Salem beat Willow Springs, 4-1. Salem is now 11-3 on the year and the Tigers will be at the School of the Osage today to face the Indians starting at 4:00. 

The Salem Tennis Match with Licking scheduled last week has been rescheduled for this Friday at the Salem City Park starting at 4:00.

The Salem Golf Team will be heading to Houston today to play in the Houston Open starting at 4:00.

After sweeping the Astros, the St. Louis Cardinals had more of a challenge with the Miami Marlins last night. While the Cardinals scored a run first with a Masyn Winn sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth, the Marlins kept pace with the Red Birds before overtaking them in the bottom of the sixth. Heading into the top of the ninth, and down by three, Ramón Urías brought home Masyn Winn on a sacrifice fly.  However the Marlins would closed out the game defeating the Cards, 5-3. Game two is tonight and you can listen in on KSMO Radio with a delayed broadcast set to begin at 6:00 that will be joined immediately following Salem Lady Tiger Softball.
