On Tuesday at the Salem Open, the Salem Tiger golf team played very well with all 5 golfers finishing in the top 10. Aiden Summers took 1stplace overall shooting a 38. Other Tigers finished in the top five were Daniel Black who shot a 42 securing 3rd place overall, Brasyn Hampton who shot a 46 capturing 4th place, and Ben Owen who finished with a 47 which was good enough for 5th place overall. The Tigers’ Walker Smith shot a 53 which placed him in 9th place overall. The next meet for Salem will be at Owensville Monday at 3:45.

The Ava Lady Softball Bears batted around in two different innings and beat the Salem Lady Tigers, 14-6. Salem trailed 6-0 at one point, then rallied to close the gap to 7-6 before Ava hit Salem with a five-spot in the 6th inning to break the game open. Bailey Mahurin had two hits and two RBI for Salem while Shaylee Thomas and Alexis White each had two hits and an RBI in the game. The Salem Lady Tigers will be at Houston for an SCA Conference game starting at 4:30 Monday. Salem is 4-3 on the year and 0-1 in the SCA Conference.

The Salem Tigers Baseball game with Potosi Thursday was postponed due to wet grounds and no makeup date has yet been set. The Tigers will host Ava Monday in SCA Conference play beginning at 4:30. Salem will host Ava Monday afternoon at 4:30 at the SHS Baseball Field Complex. 

The Rolla Classic Track Meet schedule for today has been postponed. It will be rescheduled at a date yet to be determined. 

The St. Louis Cardinals, fresh off a pair of series wins over the Rays and Mets, are heading to Detroit to face the Tigers today. You can listen to this game live on KSMO Radio 1340 AM & 95.7 FM with pregame coverage starting at 11:15 this morning, first pitch will cross home plate just past noon at 12:10. Over the weekend the Cards will wrap up the three game series with another afternoon game tomorrow at 12:10. Game three will be Sunday evening at 6:20. Each of these games will be live on KSMO Radio.

With the playoff window narrowing the St. Louis Blues will have to be almost perfect to enter postseason play. They’ll face the Anaheim Ducks tonight in the Honda Center with puck drop at 9:00. You can listen to the game live on KSMO Radio with the preskate coverage set to begin at 8:30. Sunday night, the Blues will be in Colorado to face the Avalanche, this game will also be on KSMO Radio but it will have a delayed start to follow St. Louis Cardinals Baseball at approximately 9:30.
