The Salem Baseball Tigers are hosting the Owensville Dutchmen this afternoon at 4:30. Salem enters the game with a 2-2 record while Owensville is 1-6.
The Salem Softball Lady Tigers are going to have their home opener this afternoon, hosting the Lady Tigers of Stoutland at the City of Salem Softball fields. First pitch is scheduled to cross home plate at 4:30.
The Salem Track and Field teams will be in Cuba this afternoon at 2:00 for the Cuba Relays.
The Bunker Eagle Baseball season will begin tomorrow as they will travel to Winona to face the 0-5 Wildcats.
The St. Louis Cardinals finished up their series against the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend. On Saturday the Rays stormed back from a four run deficit to force extra innings. In the top of the tenth, the Rays went up by a run before a JJ Wetherholt single brought in a pair of runs for the Cardinals 6-5 walk off victory. Yesterday, Tampa Bay would avoid the series sweep defeating St. Louis, 11-7. The Cardinals will begin a new series against the 2-1 Mets this evening at 6:45. The St. Louis Blues are back above .500 with convincing 5-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. All five Blues goals were scored by a different Blues player. Now with a 31-30-11 record and keeping their postseason hopes alive, the Blues will be in San Jose to face the Sharks at 9:00 tonight.
