Izzy Thomas drove in four runs on two hits to lead Salem Lady Tigers past Ellington Lady Whippets Tuesday, 23-6. Salem scored seven runs in the top of the 1st and scored in every inning including nine runs in the 5th inning. The Lady Softball Tigers will be at Bourbon today to face the Lady Warhawks who are 0-1 on the season starting at 4:00.

The Salem Tennis Tigers defeated Licking yesterday, 7-0 to start off their 2026 season. They’ll be in Marshfield this afternoon facing another undefeated team, the Blue Jays at 4:00. The Tigers first home match will be this Thursday against West Plains also at 4:00 in the afternoon. 

Layla Taylor did an excellent job representing Bunker High School during the MoNASP State Archer Championship in both the Bullseye and 3D tournaments. In the Bullseye tournament she placed 11th out of the 513 high school girls that entered, 4th of 122 of those who are seniors, which gave her an overall placement of 13th out of the 1,565 participants. In the 3D tournament she placed 8th out of 339 high school girls, 3rd of the 88 seniors, which earned her an overall rank of 10th out of the 784 participants. Layla has qualified for the Eastern Nationals in early May held in Kentucky! Congratulations Layla!

The St. Louis Blues were at home to face off against the Washington Capitals last night in the Enterprise Center. After a scoreless first period, Jimmy Snuggerud netted the night’s first goal to put the Blues up early. Otto Stenberg hit a wrist shot with just over five minutes to go in the third as the Blues went on to shutout the Capitals, 3-0. The Blues will host the San Jose Sharks tomorrow night at 7:00. KSMO Radio 1340 AM & 95.7 FM will join this game live following Salem Tiger Baseball.
