The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will play Steelville tonight in the Peoples Bank Holiday Classic starting at 5:30 at Sullivan in Pool A play. The winner of this game will play in the 3rd place contest Friday night at 6:00 and the loser will play in the Consolation bracket at 4:30 Friday at Sullivan. Salem is 2-2 on the year while Steelville is 1-4.
The Salem Tigers Football team had five boys that were named to the Academic All-State for this year in football. Alton May, Charlie Terrill, Maxton Schloemer, Sam Lewis, and Titus White. Congratulations to these Tigers for a job well done!
The Bunker Eagles Boys Basketball Team will host East Carter tonight in a Black River Conference matchup, but there has been a time change from the original schedule. The JV contest will begin at 5:30 with the varsity game to follow. The varsity game will be streamed live on KSMO Media starting with Eagle Insights and Coach Rod Gorman before the broadcast which should begin around 7:00 on ksmoradio.com, KSMO Stream Facebook Page and KSMO YouTube Page. Bunker enters the game with an 8-0 record while East Carter is 6-1.
Mizzou football running back Ahmad Hardy was named to the Sporting News All-America First Team this past Wednesday. Hardy was previously named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and American Football Coaches Association, giving him four first-team All-America nods and earning him NCAA consensus All-America recognition. He is the 15th Tiger in program history to earn that designation.
Hardy becomes the third running back in program history to receive first team honors as a Sporting News All-American and the 17th player overall to earn a first-team selection.
The St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets squared off at the Enterprise Center last night. After a scoreless first period, Justin Faulk hit a wrist shot in the second for the only goal of the night for either team. With the 1-0 victory the Blues are now a pair of wins away from evening up their record. They’ll host the New York Rangers tonight starting at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.
