The 2025 Heroes Marathon was held this past Saturday in Dent and Phelps County from Salem to Rolla. This year’s full marathon winner was John Boyle from Waynesville who finished with a time of 3:10:48. Anthony Schmitz of Waynesville took 2nd place and Ryan Kane of Rolla took 3rd place. In the half marathon, Jordan Hoffner of Waynesville came in 1st Place with a time of 1:27:41. Jeffrey Franklin of St. Charles took 2nd Place while Alex Oswald of Rolla finished in 3rd Place. The marathon relay winners were the Air Force Cadets out of Rolla who finished with a time of 3:16:35. Taking 2nd Place in the relay was Rolla’s Fantastic Four followed by the Last Minute Milers out of Licking. In the 10K run, James Sparks from Ulman, Missouri took 1st place with a time of 43:15 followed by Kelsie Lineback of Waynesville in 2nd Place and Marcella Raggio of Waynesville who took 3rd Place. In the 5K run, Adam Oswald of St. Peters was the winner with a time of 20:50 as he beat Patrick Forest of Rolla by 12 seconds. Taking 3rd place in the 5K was Tristan Frazier of Lathrop, Missouri who finished with a time of 21:50, a full minute out of 1st place. The Heroes Marathon Committee wants to thank all those who participated and the numerous volunteers and sponsors that made it a huge success.
The St. Louis Blues were in Toronto last night facing off against the Maple Leafs. It was a milestone night for Justin Faulk as he took to the ice playing his 1,000th NHL game. During the first two periods the Blues and Maple Leafs traded goals making it a 2-2 score heading into the third. In the final regulation period neither team was able to net the winning goal. In the final seconds of overtime the Maple Leafs defeated the Blues 3-2. Their next game will be tomorrow night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
