Salem FFA members competed recently in the South Central District Public Speaking Contests. Taking 1st place in the Missouri Young Farmer/Young Farm Wives division was Dalli Johnson. Konnor Headrick was also 1st in the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association division. Dalli and Konnor will be competing in the State Contest. Maggie Hogan placed 2nd in the Missouri Soil and Water division, McKenna Faulkner was 2nd in the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives division, and Abbi Terrill was 2nd in the Missouri Sheep Producers division. Placing 4th in the Missouri Forest Products division was Madyson King and John Cunningham was 4th in the Missouri Farm Bureau division. Congratulations FFA members on your achievement.

Friday night, the St. Louis Blues blew two 2-goal leads and fell in a shootout to the Philadelphia Flyers on a goal by Trevor Zegras, 6-5. Zegras finished with two goals and an assist on the night. The Blues had goals from Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, Justin Faulk, Jimmy Snuggerud and Dylan Holloway. In the game, defenseman Cam Fowler recorded his 500th and 501st points in the NHL. On Saturday, the Vegas Golden Nights dominated the Blues, outshooting them, 33-23 and beating them, 4-1. The only Blues goal was scored by Phillip Broberg. St. Louis starts a five-game road trip in Toronto starting at 5:30 Tuesday night and you can hear that game on KSMO Radio. 

Ahmad Hardy ran the ball 25 times for 300 yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Matt Zollers threw for two more scores as the Missouri Tigers beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs Saturday, 49-27, to go to 7-3 on the year and 3-3 in SEC Conference Play. Missouri’s defense also scored on two interception returns by Marvin Banks Jr. and Toriano Pride, Jr. Missouri will be at Oklahoma Saturday morning at 11:00 and you can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers will host Prairie View tonight at 7:00 with the pre-game show starting at 6:30 on KSMO Radio. The Tigers are 4-0 on the season going into the contest.

The Kansas City Chiefs were defeated by the Denver Broncos, 22-19 yesterday. They’ll host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at noon on CBS.
