At the SCA Conference Cross Country meet held Monday at Willow Springs, Zoey Elliott earned 1st team all-conference for the girls by placing 3rd overall with a running a time of 24:02. Coming in 17th place for Salem was Danica Garner with a time of 30:16, and Clara Cooper took 24th place with a time of 36:49. There were not enough Salem girls running to qualify for the team championship. Houston won the SCA Conference team championship for the girls. For the boys, Nicholas Thies was the fastest Salem runner and he came in 21st with a time of 21:49. He was followed by Stetson Mobray who came in 28th with a time of 23:20, Jordin Shermin who took 35th place with a time of 25:31, Kobe Walker who placed 37th with a time of 26:42 and Linkyn Atkinsion who finished in 38th place with a time of 26:42. None of the Salem runners earned all-conference honors. The Salem boys team finished 7th in the SCA Conference as the Mountain Grove boys won the SCA Conference Championship.

The Salem JV Football Tigers fell to Mountain Grove Monday night by the score of 52-12 at Bill Schuchardt Stadium. Salem falls to 1-4 on the year and they will wrap up their season next Monday when they play at Mountain View against the Liberty JV Eagles at 6:00.

The Bunker Lady Volleyball Eagles competed this past weekend in the West County Invitational and tied two matches and lost one. Then on Monday, Bunker went to Greenville to face the Lady Bears and the Lady Eagles lost in three straight sets: 25 – 27, 13 – 25 and 20 – 25. The Lady Eagles fall to 10-18-4 on the year and will host Steelville Thursday night and it will be Senior Night with festivities being held prior to the varsity match which will begin at 5:00. The Bunker Lady Eagles have been seeded 3rd in the Class 1, District 6 volleyball tournament and will be facing the Viburnum Lady Jays on Thursday, October 23rd at 6:45 at Eminence. 

The St. Louis Blues will host the Chicago Blackhawks tonight with the game starting at 8:00 on KSMO Radio in a nationally televised game on TNT. The Blues are 2-1 on the year and have won two straight games while the Blackhawks are 1-2-1.
