The Cardinals picked up where they left off the game prior, scoring their first five runs exclusively on home runs and holding off the Cubs comeback with a 8-7 win. The Kansas City Royals had their hands full with the Tampa Bay Rays only mustering a single run in the bottom of the ninth, falling 5-1. Game two is tonight at 6:40.
