A Mountain Grove error on a double by Bryar Bobbitt of Salem allowed Blake Edwards to score what ended up being the game winning run in the bottom of the 6th inning as the Salem Tigers edged the Mountain Grove Panthers Monday, 3-2. Bobbitt and Roy Stevens, who tied the game with an RBI single in the 6th, each had two hits for the Tigers. In both the 5th and 7th innings, the Salem drawn-in infield threw out Panther Sam Peterson who tried to score on a ground ball to preserve the win. Salem is 9-5-1 on the year and 5-1 in the SCA Conference. Salem is scheduled to be in Sullivan today at 4:30. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Stoutland today, weather permitting, starting at 4:30.

The Salem Tigers golf team finished 3rd in the SCA Conference Golf Tournament held Monday. The Willow Springs Bears shot a 325 to win the tournament followed by the Ava Bears with 329 strokes. Salem finished with 340 strokes. Aiden Summers finished 2nd overall in the tournament shooting a 79. He also was named to the All SCA -Conference 1st team. Congratulations!

The Salem JV Track Teams will compete at the Farmington JV Track Meet starting at 3:00 today.

The St. Louis Cardinals were in Cincinnati last night for a first of four games against the Reds. The Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead off the bat of Nolan Arenado allowing Lars Nootbaar to score. Unfortunately for the Cardinals that would be the only run batted in as the Cards fell to the Reds, 3-1. Game two is tonight with first pitch at 5:40.
