Noah Walton ran the ball 13 for 151 yards and scored three touchdowns for the Potosi Trojans as they beat the Salem Football Tigers Friday night, 46-19. The freshman Trojan Quarterback, David Miller, was 10 for 14 passing for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Gavin Sapaugh and Reuben Hovey scored for Salem as the Tigers fall to 0-2 on the year. The Tigers will host the Houston Tigers this Friday night starting at 7:00 and the night will include with Homecoming festivities at the high school football field. The Salem JV Football Tigers will host the Cabool Bulldogs tonight starting at 6:00 at the SHS Football Field. Salem is 1-0 on the year. 

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will be on the road for the first time this season as they will be in Winona starting with the JV match at 5:30 to be followed by the varsity contest. The Salem JV is 0-1 on the year and the varsity is 1-1. 

The St. Louis Cardinals played the Seattle Mariners over the weekend, losing on Friday 6-1, winning on Saturday 2-0, but losing game three on Sunday 10-4. The Kansas City Royals swept the Minnesota Twins this past weekend winning game one, on Friday 5-0, Game two on Saturday 4-2 and game three, on Sunday 2-0. The win on Sunday was Kansas City Pitcher Michael Wacha’s 100th career win, making him just the 20th active pitcher to reach that milestone. The Royals will be looking to continue their winning streak and close the gap with the AL Central leading Guardians, when they go to New York to face the Yankees, tomorrow evening at 6:05.
