Garrett Connell slugged a grand slam and Salem hitters received 20 walks as they broke open a 3-3 tie scoring four runs in the 6th inning and ten more in the 7th for 17-4 win at Ellington. Connell finished with five RBI while Collin Heavin, Trethan Rictor and Isacc Westerman each had two RBI. Bronson Crocker pitched 4 1/3rd innings giving up four hits and 1 run to get the win as Salem is now 2-2 on the year. They will play Owensville Monday at 4:30 at home.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers game against Stoutland was cancelled Thursday afternoon due to weather. The Lady Tigers game today with Bourbon has also been postponed. The Lady Tigers will be in Mountain Grove Saturday for their tournament and play the Lady Panthers Saturday morning at 10:00 and then Ava at 1:00. The 1st and 3rd place games will be played at 2:30.

The Salem Tiger Tennis Team will be at Licking today at 4:00 to face the Wildcats. The Salem Tiger Track meet at Waynesville for Thursday was postponed and rescheduled for today at 3:30.

The St. Louis Blues lost to Philadelphia Thursday night, 5-2. They will play the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday night at 6:30 on KSMO.

The St. Louis Cardinals will host the Washington Nationals this afternoon at 12:05.

The Kanas City Royals beat the Cincinnati Reds Thursday afternoon, 5 to 4. They play the Texas Rangers this afternoon.
