The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers placed three girls on the SCA All-Conference teams. Names to the All-SCA Conference 1st Team was junior Bella Jadwin while sophomores Ashton Bowers and Savannah Manthey were named to the All-SCA Conference Honorable Mention Team. Both Bowers and Manthey were also named to the Class 4, District 9 All-District team. Congratulations ladies!!!
Two Salem Boys Basketball Tigers were named to the All-SCA Conference Team and they were Lucas Morrison and Gunnar Konkel. Congratulations guys!
According to the St. Louis Cardinal baseball front office, the 2021 season pocket schedules will not be shipped until the week of April 5th. Once the pocket schedules arrive in the Salem area, we will let the public know.
Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer and Tommy Edman went 3-3 as the St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros battled to a 4-4 nine-inning tie on Wednesday afternoon. Adam Wainwright pitched 4 2/3rds innings giving up five hits and two runs. The Cardinals are now 5-5-4 this spring. They will play the Miami Marlins this afternoon at 4:55. Mike Minor gave up six runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings as the Oakland A’s doubled up Kansas City Wednesday, 10-5. Ryan McBroom and Hunter Dozier homered for the Royals who will play the Chicago White Sox this afternoon in Arizona. The Royals lost for the second day in a row.
The St. Louis Blues lost to the Los Angeles Kings Wednesday night, 4-1. Mike Hoffman had the only Blues goal as they lost for the 5th straight time. St. Louis will be in San Jose this Friday and Saturday night on KSMO starting at 7:30 each evening. The Blues are 14-9-5 on the season.
