Jose Martinez hit two home runs and drove in three runs and Lance Lynn three five shut-out innings to get his fifth win of the year as the Cardinals won their fourth straight game beating the Milwaukee Brewers in a make-up game Tuesday afternoon, 6-0. Tyler Lyons three innings of shutout relief to get his first major league save. In the second game, Keon Broxton and Travis Shaw each hit solo home runs and combined for five RBI to help the Brewers beat the Cardinals 8-5 and split their doubleheader. The Cards face Milwaukee again tonight at 6:20 on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals finish up their short two-game series with the San Francisco Giants this afternoon at 2:45.

The Cardinals announce that they have given Jhonny Peralta his unconditional release. Peralta was designated for assignment last Friday and he asked the team for his release which was granted.

The Kansas City Royals took high school players with their first two picks selecting first baseman Nick Pratto in the first round at No. 14 overall and catcher MJ Melendez with the 52nd selection followed by college left-hander Evan Steele No. 73 overall. The Cardinals did not have any picks the first day due to their penalty for tapping into the Houston Astros scouting two years ago.
