Michael Wacha tossed a three-hitter for his first career complete game Tuesday night as the St. Louis Cardinals cruised past the New York Mets 5-0 at Citi Field. Matt Carpenter had four hits for the Cardinals (46-47), who have won the first two contests of the four-game series. Wacha (7-3) allowed only a two-out single to Yoenis Cespedes in the first, a one-out double to Michael Conforto in the sixth and a leadoff single to Conforto in the ninth. Carpenter had two doubles, including a run-scoring two-bagger in the second, and two singles in his 11th career four-hit game. The Cards and Mets will play again today at 5:15 on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Cardinals OF Randal Grichuk is scheduled to join the Springfield Cardinals tonight on a Major League Rehab Assignment at Hammons Field.

Nicholas Castellanos had four hits, including a pair of home runs, and drove in five runs as the Detroit Tigers beat the fading Kansas City Royals 9-3 Tuesday night. The Tigers have won four straight, while the Royals have lost 7 of 8. The Royals and Tigers square off again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.
