The West Plains Zizzers came to town Tuesday and beat the Salem Tigers in non-conference play with a swarming defense by the final score of 68-42. Cody Rictor led Salem with nine points in the game as the Tigers fall to 1-4 on the year. They will be at Cuba Thursday night and be back home Friday night to face the St. James Tigers.

Brayden Schenn scored three goals to help the St. Louis Blues end a three-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Tuesday, ending the Blues three game losing streak. Scottie Upshall also scored for the Blues (18-8-2) and Jake Allen made 22 saves. The Blues will be at the Scottrade Center Thursday to face the Dallas stars in a game that will be delayed due to Salem Basketball on KSMO.

Kevin Puryear scored 20 points and Kassius Robertson added 17 more as Missouri beat Miami of Ohio Tuesday, 70-51. Missouri improves to 7-2 on the season and will host Green Bay Saturday night at 7:30 on KSMO.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have signed free-agent right-handed pitcher Miles Mikolas to a two-year deal. The 29-year old Mikolas has starred the past three seasons (2015-17) in the Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball League, going a combined 31-13 with a 2.18 ERA in 62 starts for the Yomiuri Giants of the Japan Central League.
