The Ava Lady Bears scored the winning run on two errors in the 9th inning to ruin a huge Salem Tiger comeback as Ava beat Salem, 9-8. Salem scored five runs in the 5th inning to tie the game and scored again in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Salem is 4-3 on the year and play Houston Tuesday.

The Eminence Lady Volleyball Red Wings beat Salem Tuesday night in two straight games by the scores of 25-13 in both games. Salem is now 2-3 on the year. The Salem JV also lost in two straight games. The Lady Volleyball Tigers will host Licking on Thursday, September 7th.

The City of Salem Youth Flag Football signups for children in 1st through 6th are going on now! You can sign up your child Monday through Friday at the Salem Community Center@The Armory. The St. Louis Cardinals’ offense erupted in a 10-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night at Miller Park. Luke Voit drove in four runs and Matt Carpenter had a two-run homer. The Cards will face Milwaukee this afternoon at 12:15 on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals topped the Tampa Bay Rays 6-2 on Tuesday night. The Royals and Tampa Bay wrap up their series tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.
