The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers evened their record at 1-1 on the year as they beat the St. James Lady Tigers in a three game set Tuesday night with Salem winning the first game, 25-15; St. James winning the second game, 26-24; and Salem winning the 3rd set, 25-18. The JV lost in two straight games by the scores of 27-25 and 25-23. The Lady Tigers will host Bunker Thursday night at 6:00 at the SHS Gym.

Yangervis Solarte knocked in a career-high six runs Tuesday night as the San Diego Padres became the latest team to plunder St. Louis Cardinals pitching in a 12-4 rout at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals will host the Padres again tonight beginning at 6:20 on KSMO Radio.

Danny Duffy did not allow a hit until there were two outs in the sixth inning as the Kansas City Royals escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night. The Royals will play the Rockies again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium in KC.
