Sydney Miller of Willow Springs struck out 12 and gave up six hits en route to a Lady Bears 2-0 win over Salem Tuesday. Salem loaded the bases with no one out in the 7th inning and failed to score. Trista Heavin struck out 16 Lady Bears while giving up only five hits, but gave up two earned runs as Salem falls to 11-6 on the year. They will be off until next Monday.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Varsity Tigers lost to the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers Tuesday night, 25-9 and 25-19 to fall to 5-9-1 on the year. The Lady Volleyball Tigers will host Ava Thursday night starting at 6:00 with the JV match followed by the varsity games.

Dexter Fowler tied the score with a solo home run in the eighth inning, lifting the St. Louis Cardinals to an 8-7 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park. The Cards face Cincinnati again tonight starting at 5:15 on KSMO Radio.

Marcus Stroman pitched seven strong innings, and Darwin Barney homered and drove in three runs as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Kansas City Royals 5-2 on Tuesday night. The Royals and Blue Jays play again tonight.
