The SCA Baseball Champion Salem Tigers placed eight players on all the SCA teams and Coach Phillip Karr was named the SCA Coach of the Year as Salem went 7-0 in SCA Conference play. Named to the All-SCA First Team were pitcher Jon Arzt, infielder Nate Bray, outfielder Eli Floyd and catcher Dalton Cook. Salem players named to the All-SCA Second Team included pitcher Kory Ramsey, infielder Boone Schrader and outfielder Cody Manthey while infielder Lawson Toman was named to the All-SCA Honorable Mention Team. Congratulations to Coack Karr and the all the Salem Tiger players on an outstanding season.

Chase Utley, Cody Bellinger and Logan Forsythe each cracked homers for the Dodgers who got five solid innings from starter Rich Hill as they went on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals Monday, 5-1. The Cardinals are back at .500 at 24-24. Mike Leake took the loss for the Red Birds and is now 5-3 as he gave up six hits and four runs in seven innings with a walk and six strikeouts. The Cards and Dodgers play tonight starting at 6:05 in the ESPN Game of the Week. The pre-game begins at 5:10 on KSMO.

The St. Louis Cardinals they have activated outfielder and first baseman Jose Martinez (left groin) from the 10-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Randal Grichuk to Palm Beach (A).

Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run single in a four-run eighth inning as the Detroit Tigers rallied to beat the Kansas City Royals 10-7 on Monday night. The Royals and Detroit will play again tonight in KC.
