The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will play Plato in the Family Pharmacy Tournament in Mountain Grove this morning at 9:00. Salem is 2-6 on the season.

Registration for the City of Salem Adult Men’s Basketball League for men 18-years of age and above and no longer in high school is going on now at the Salem Community Center @ The Armory and at the City Administrative offices. The cost per team is $300 and teams can be comprised of as many as 12 players. Signups will continue until December 29th. Teams registering after that date will be charged a $25 late fee. Kyle Brodziak’s goal with 1:30 left in the second period stood up as the winner as the St. Louis Blues beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-1 in Saturday night and snapped a three game losing streak. Patrik Berglund and Alex Steen also scored for the Blues. The Blues will host Nashville Wednesday starting at 6:30 on KSMO.

Freshman guard Trent Frazier scored 22 points and Illinois beat Missouri for the fifth straight time, 70-64 on Saturday at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. Kassius Robertson scored 22 points while Jordan Barnett added 19 points for the Tigers had their five-game winning streak snapped and fall to 10-3 on the year. Missouri will look to rebound when it opens SEC play at South Carolina on January 3rd.

Quarterback Alex Smith surpassed the 4,000-yard passing mark for the first time in his 12-year career as the Chiefs clinched back-to-back AFC West titles for the first time in franchise history with a 29-13 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Smith completing 25 of 39 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown. Tyreek Hill led the Chiefs with six catches for 109 yards. The Chiefs finish the regular season against Denver on Sunday.
