The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will host the Cuba Wildcats today at 4:30 at the Salem City Park Softball Field. Salem enters the game with a 5-3 record. You can hear the game on KSMO radio and online at ksmoradio.com.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will host Licking tonight at the SHS Gym with the JV game at 6:00 with the varsity match to follow. Salem enters the contest with a 2-3 record.

The Salem Cross Country will be at the steve Waggoner Invitational meet at Willow Springs this afternoon at 4:00. It is the Cross Country Teams’ first meet.

The Salem Middle School 7th and 8th grade football teams will kick off their football season at 5:00 this afternoon at the Rolla.

Stephen Piscotty ended the shutout bid by rookie Dinelson Lamet with a two-run homer in the seventh inning Wednesday night to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-1 victory over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. The Cards will finish up their four game series at San Diego tonight at 7:15 on KSMO radio.

Salvador Perez smacked two homers, Whit Merrifield hit three doubles and drove in three runs, and the Kansas City Royals manhandled the Detroit Tigers 13-2 on Wednesday at Comerica Park. The Royals will host Minnesota tonight to start a four game series.

The Kansas City Chiefs kickoff the 2017 NFL season tonight against New England on NBC-TV.
