The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Union to face the Lady Wildcats today starting at 4:30. Salem enters the game with a 12-6 record.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers are seeded 5th in the District Tournament that will be held next week in Sullivan. Salem will play St. James on Wednesday at 4:30 at Sullivan.

The Salem Middle School Football Tigers will be at Cabool today starting at 5:30 with the 7th and 8th grade teams playing.

Chicago scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning, Chicago knocked off the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1 Wednesday night to wrap up its second consecutive National League Central title. Addison Russell wiped out a 1-0 deficit with one swing, cracking a three-run homer down the left field line to spoil a good game from Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha who gave up five runs on seven hits in his six plus innings in the loss. The Cardinals will host the Cubs again today at 5:20 on KSMO Radio. The Cards magic number to be eliminated is 1.

Alcides Escobar hit a two-run double in a three-run eighth, an inning after Paulo Orlando homered for the first time in more than a year, and the Kansas City Royals defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-4 on Wednesday night. The Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tiger wrap up their series tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.
