The Lady Volleyball Tigers will host Ava tonight starting at 6:00 at the SHS Gymnasium with the JV match followed by the varsity games. Salem varsity enters the game with a 5-9-1 record.

The Salem Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Football teams will be at Mountain View-Liberty today at 5:30 to face the Eagles.

The Salem Cross Country Team will participate in the Rolla Invitational today starting at 4:00.

Signups for the City of Salem Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League for men and women age 18 and over is going on now through October 3rd. Registration is per team with a minimum of three men and three women for $150. You can pickup and return your forms at the Salem Community Center@The Armory at 1200 West Rolla Road. Games will be held every Sunday starting October 15th at the Upper Elementary Gymnasium. Matt Carpenter homered to lead off the game and Dexter Fowler and Paul DeJong went back-to-back in the 3rd inning to lead St. Louis to a 9-2 win over the Reds Wednesday night. The Cardinals will go for the sweep in Cincinnati tonight at 5:15 on KSMO Radio.

Whit Merrifield, Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas all homered and the Royals scored eight times in the 2nd inning en route to a 15-5 win over Toronto Wednesday night. Moustakas’ home run set the new season high for the Royals as he overtook Steve Balboni with 37 on the year. The Royals and Blue Jays play again tonight.
