Salem Senior softball player Rebekah Kirker was named to the Class 3 All-Region Softball First Team as an infielder for Districts 9, 10, 11 and 12. The only other girl from the area included on any All-Region Team was junior Mikaela Donnelly of St. James and she was named as a Class 3 All Region Softball Second Team catcher. Congratulations Rebekah and Mikaela!!

The Salem Football Tigers will be home Friday night to face the Dexter Bearcats in the first round of Class 3, District 1 play starting at 7:00 at the SHS Football Field. Admission to the game will be $5.00 and $3.00 for students. No passes are allowed for District games. Salem is 6-3 on the year and Dexter has a 4-5 record. Jaden Schwartz recorded his third career hat trick to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Vladimir Taransenko and Kyle Brodziak also scored for the Blues who will be in Colorado tonight to face the Avalanche starting at 7:30 on KSMO Radio with the pre-game show. The game will follow beginning at about 8:00.

This Sunday, the Missouri Basketball Tigers will play an exhibition game against the Kansas Jayhawks. The game will be at the Sprint Center in Kansas City and all the proceeds will go to help those affected by the hurricanes in Florida and Texas. The game will NOT be televised on any TV network, but it will be available on the Missouri Tiger Radio Network. KSMO Radio will carry the game that day starting at 3:00. There is no pre-game show.
