The City of Salem Youth Flag Football signups for children in 1st through 6th are going on now! You can sign up your child Monday through Friday at the Salem Community Center@The Armory at 1200 West Rolla Road and the City Administrative Office at 4th and Iron Streets. Games will be held every Saturday starting October 7th through the 28th. The cost is $25 per child. For more information, contact Park and Recreation Director Tye Lydon at 729-6290.

Chase Anderson gave up a pair of home runs but struck out six over six innings for the Milwaukee Brewers in a 6-5 victory over the St Louis Cardinals Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park. Tommy Pham had two homers in the game and Randall Grichuk added a solo shot. The Cards will be in San Francisco tonight starting at 8:20 on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have acquired minor league shortstop Rayder Ascanio from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Mike Leake and international cap space totaling $750,000 for the current international signing period.

Jake Odorizzi picked up his first victory in six starts, and Logan Morrison homered to continue his hot streak as the Tampa Bay Rays downed the Kansas City Royals 5-3 on Wednesday night. The Royals have the day off today.
