Salem Tiger Boys and Girls Basketball 2nd Annual Golf Tournament will be held June 12th at Spring Creek Golf Club in Salem. Players and business sponsors are needed to help raise money for your Jr. High and High School basketball programs. You must sign up for the tournament by June 9th. Ian Happ hit two home runs and drove in four runs, and the Chicago Cubs held on for a 7-6 win of the St. Louis Cardinals to complete a three-game sweep on Sunday night. Pinch hitter Jon Jay drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning for the Cubs. Chicago (28-27) improved to 17-11 at Wrigley Field and climbed above .500 for the first time since May 28. The Cardinals will be at Cincinnati to start a four game series tonight at 5:15 on KSMO Radio.

Jason Kipnis homered and drove in two runs and six Cleveland pitchers combined on an 8-0 shutout of the Kansas City Royals on Sunday. Kipnis homered in the sixth, had a sacrifice fly in the fourth and walked and scored in a four-run second inning. Royals’ left-hander Eric Skoglund (0-1) was roughed up in his second start. Skoglund gave up four runs on four hits and two walks in two innings. The Houston Astros Mike Fiers will face the Royals Ian Kennedy in the first of a four game series.
