Willson Contreras snapped a tie with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, leading the Chicago Cubs to a 5-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday and a tie for first place in the National League Central. The Cubs took two of three in the weekend series. The Colorado Rockies come to St. Louis for a three game series starting tonight with a 6:10 pre-game show on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced Friday they have acquired outfielder Tyler O’Neill from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-handed pitcher Marco Gonzales. O’Neill will report to Triple A Memphis.

Brandon Moss hit a walk-off RBI double in the ninth inning as the Kansas City Royals edged the Chicago White Sox 5-4 on Sunday. Moss’ double to right field off Tyler Clippard scored Lorenzo Cain. Kelvin Herrera (3-2) pitched a spotless ninth to pick up the victory. The Royals blasted four home runs, including two Whit Merrifield solo shots. Jorge Bonifacio and Eric Hosmer also homered for Kansas City who finished their ten game home stand with five straight wins. The Royals will be at Detroit to face the Tigers tonight.
