The Mountain Grove Panthers jumped out to a 26-7 1st quarter lead and cruised to a 72-43 win over Salem Friday night. Jordan Shults netted 12 points for Salem as they fall to 5-15 on the year and 0-3 in the SCA. Salem will host Ava Tuesday night in their courtwarming game starting with the freshman game at 5:00 with the JV game to follow. The varsity game will start at about 7:45.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will host the Cuba Lady Wildcats at 6:00 tonight in non-conference play at the high school gym starting with the JV game with the varsity game to follow at about 7:15. You can hear the varsity game on KSMO Radio and ksmoradio.com. Salem enters the game with a 7-12 record. NOTE: The JV game for tonight has been cancelled and the varsity game will begin at 6:00. Due to previous commitments, KSMO personnel will not be available at 6:00 so that game tonight will NOT be broadcast on KSMO Radio or online at ksmoradio.com.

Missouri had never beaten Kentucky in 10 previous tries, but behind 16 points each from Jordan Barnett and Kassius Robertson, the Tigers finally cleared that Big Blue hurdle with a 69-60 victory Saturday. Jontay Porter added 13 points and eight rebounds for Missouri, now 15-8 overall, 5-5 in the SEC. Missouri will visit Mississippi on Tuesday. That game will NOT be heard on KSMO due to Salem Tiger Basketball.

Carter Hutton stopped 27 shots, and Carl Gunnarsson banked in a shot off the crossbar with 5:41 left in the St. Louis Blues' 1-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night. Hutton earned his third shutout of the season and 11th of his career while improving to 9-1-1 in his past 11 games. The Blues will be home Tuesday to face Minnesota and that game can be heard after Salem Basketball on KSMO Radio.

The City of Salem Youth Soccer League signups are going on now at the Salem Community Center@The Armory at 1200 West Rolla Road during normal business hours. The Youth Soccer League is for children age 14 and under. The league will begin April 7th at the Al Brown Park and last until April 28th. Nick Foles threw the go-ahead 5-yard touchdown pass to Zach Ertz with 2:21 to go and the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl by outscoring Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 41-33 in a see-saw battle in Minnesota Sunday night.
