Carter Keeney scored eight points in the 4th quarter to help lead the St. James Tigers past the Salem Tigers Friday night at the SHS Gym, 61-52. Tied at 38-38 after three quarters, Keeney’s effort propelled St. James to score 23 points in the 4th quarter for the win. Cody Rictor had 15 points for Salem as Lawson Toman added 12 more. Salem is 2-5 on the year and they will be in Rolla tomorrow night.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers are seeded 7th in the Peoples Bank Holiday Classic in Sullivan this week. They will face Rock Bridge today at 4:00. Salem enters the game with a 1-3 record.

Junior guard Jordan Geist came off the bench to deliver a career-high 28 points and spark Missouri to a 100-77 non-conference win over Green Bay on Saturday night at Mizzou Arena. Senior forward Jordan Barnett scored 19 points. Missouri is now 8-2 on the year and they will be off until next Saturday night when they host North Florida.

The St. Louis Blues scored four goals on their five shots and coasted to a 6-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena with the Blues getting goals from Brayden Schenn, defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, Jaden Schwartz, Vladimir Sobotka, Scottie Upshall and Dmitrij Jaskin. On Sunday, Vladimir Tarasenko scored in overtime to lead the Blues to a 3-2 win over Buffalo. Brayden Schenn and Paul Stastny also scored for the Blues who will host Tampa Bay on Tuesday night at 6:30 on KSMO.

Alex Smith finished 20 of 34 for 268 yards with an interception and Kareen Hunt led the Chiefs on the ground with 116 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries as Kansas City (7-6) ended a four-game losing streak with a 26-15 win over Oakland Sunday. The Chiefs play the LA Chargers on Sunday.
