Chandler Gray scored two touchdowns and ran for 158 yards on 13 carries, plus made an interception in the end zone to thwart a Sumner scoring drive to help lead the Salem Tigers to a 38-30 win over the Bulldogs Saturday afternoon. Cameron Camden ran for two touchdowns and threw a 71-yard TD pass to Dawson Wynn as Salem eclipsed 444 yards in total offense on the day. Salem will travel to Houston to face the Tigers in their SCA opener Friday night at 7:00.

The Salem Lady Volleyball will host the West Plains Lady Zizzers tonight. The JV match will get underway at 6:00 with the varsity match to follow at the SHS gym. Salem enters the match with a 2-1 record.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers won the Houston Invitational Tournament on Saturday as they dominated Bakersfield in the first game and won, 12-0 in four innings. The Lady Tigers then gave up eight unearned runs in one inning, only to come back and score 10 of their own in that same inning, eventually winning the game, 12-9. Then in the championship game, the Salem Lady Tigers outlasted the Lady Tigers of Houston, 4-3 to capture the tournament championship. Salem will host Vienna this afternoon at 4:30 and you can hear the game on KSMO and online at ksmoradio.com. Salem is 4-1 on the year.

Logan Morrison’s second home run of the game in the top of the 10th inning was the difference as Tampa Bay beat the cardinals, 3-2 in the rubber game of the three game series. Matt carpenter and Kolton Wong homered fo St. Louis in the game. The Cards will be off today before starting a 10 game road trip.

The Cleveland Indians beat Kansas City Sunday, 12-0 and swept the three game series from the Royals outscoring them in all three games, 20-0. Kansas City will host Tampa Bay tonight.
