Brett Gonzales of Rolla slugged a two-run homer, Hunter House drove in three runs and Davie Pound shut out Salem on two hits as Rolla beat Salem, 14-0. Salem is 16-3 on the year.

The Salem Baseball Tigers will begin District play against the Owensville Dutchmen today at 4:30 at Sullivan. Admission to District baseball games is $5.00 per person. If Salem wins today, they will play again Saturday at 4:30 in Sullivan against either Blair Oaks or Sullivan. Salem is seeded 2nd in the District behind Jeff City-Helias. The St. Louis Cardinals will begin a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs beginning tonight at 6:20 on KSMO Radio or immediately after Salem Tigers District Baseball.

Jason Vargas pitched seven innings and allowed three hits to help lead the Kansas City Royals to a 6-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday afternoon. Whit Merrifield homered and drove in two runs for KC who will host the Baltimore Orioles this weekend.
