The Salem FFA Chapter will be hosting a co-ed softball tournament starting this Saturday morning at 10:00 at the Al Brown Fields. Teams are to be comprised off no more than 12 people of at least 14-years of age. Concessions will be available! The entry fee is $125 per team and all the proceeds raised will be used to send three FFA members to Washington, DC for a leadership conference. Rookie Luke Voit drove in three runs Thursday as the Cardinals salvaged a split of their four-game series with Miami, winning 4-3 at Busch Stadium. Voit hit a solo homer and drove in two more with a double, and Randal Grichuk homered for the other Red Bird run. The St. Louis Cardinals start a three game series with the New York Mets tonight at 6:20 on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals had Thursday off and they will start a three game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight. The Royals are four games over .500 and are just 1/2 game behind Cleveland for 1st place in the Central Division.

Carlos Martinez and Yadier Molina have been n amed to the All-Star Game for the St. Louis Cardinals while Salvador Perez and Jason Vargas have been chosen to represent Kansas City. The All-Star game is Tuesday night on FOX-TV.
