Jon Arzt went 2-3 with two RBI while Boone Schrader and Gabe Chang each had two RBI’s as the Salem Tigers improve to 12-1 on the year with a 11-2 win over St. Clair. Schrader pitched 5 2/3rds innings giving up only six hits and one earned run and Brett Fore finished the game out. Salem will host Cabool Thursday afternoon at 4:30. Salem is 4-0 in SCA Conference play.

The Salem Tiger Tennis Team took 3rd place in the West Plains Invitational behind Rolla and Forsyth. Eric Wood finished 3rd overall in the singles portion, while Tyler Pilkington and Brock Thompson finished 3rd overall in the doubles portion.

The St. Louis Blues go for a four game sweep of the Minnesota Wild tonight at Scottrade Center in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blues won the first two games in Minnesota by 2-1 scores, and then won in St. Louis on Sunday, 3-1. The broadcast tonight begins at 8:00 with the pre-game show followed by the play-by-play at 8:30 on KSMO Radio.

It only took 14 games and five series, but the St. Louis Cardinals finally own consecutive wins and a series victory. Mike Leake threw 6 1/3 solid innings in his third straight quality start, and a shaky bullpen got the job done in a 2-1 decision over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals and Pirates will play this afternoon at 12:45 on KSMO.

Joe Panik’s two-out single in the 11th inning scored Nick Hundley as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals 2-1 Tuesday night. The Royals and Giants play again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.
