The Salem Tigers defeated Iberia and St. James in the Salem Tournament this past Friday and Saturday before losing their first game of the year to Licking in the last game Saturday. Salem is now 10-1 on the season. Salem will host the Houston Tigers this afternoon, weather permitting, starting at 4:30. You can hear the game on KSMO and online at ksmoradio.com.

The Cardinals lost to the New York Yankees Sunday night, 9-3 and were swept in the three game series. The Cardinals will host Pittsburgh tonight at 6:00 tonight on KSMO or right after Salem Baseball.

Alcides Escobar’s ninth-inning single scored pinch runner Raul Mondesi as the Kansas City Royals blanked the Los Angeles Angels 1-0 on Sunday to complete a sweep of the series. Kelvin Herrera (1-0) pitched a perfect ninth to get the victory. Parker (0-1) absorbed the loss. Royals starter Ian Kennedy allowed two hits and no runs over eight innings, striking out 10 and walking two. The Royals have the day off today.

Jaden Schwartz scored a power-play goal late in the second period to send the St. Louis Blues to a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday and give them a 3-0 lead in their first-round playoff series. Jake Allen made 40 saves, including 19 in the third period. Colton Parayko and Alexander Steen scored the other Blues goals. The Blues and Minnesota play Game 4 Wednesday night at 8:30 on KSMO Radio.
