Boone Schrader doubled in a run in the 4th inning and singled in another in the 5th inning, plus he scored twice himself as the Salem Tigers defeated the Ava Bears Thursday at Ava, 6-3. Kory Ramsey pitched 4 2/3rds inning to get the win giving up five hits and two runs of which only one was earned. Eli Floyd had two hits and scored twice, and Kory Ramsey had two hits and an RBI. Salem moves to 8-0 on the year and 3-0 in the SCA. Their next SCA game will be Monday at home against Houston at 4:30.

The Salem Tigers will host their annual Baseball tournament starting tonight at 4:00 with St. James taking on Licking followed by the Salem Tigers facing Iberia. Salem will host St. James Saturday morning at 10:00 and then finish up with the Licking Wildcats at about 5:30 Saturday afternoon. These games will not be on the radio.

The Salem Track teams will participate in the Cuba Invitational today starting at 3:30.

The St. Louis Blues will at Minnesota Friday night in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series starting at 6:30 on ksmoradio.com ONLY. The Blues lead the series, 1 game to none. They will also play Minnesota Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at Scottrade Center and you can hear that game on KSMO Radio starting at 1:30.

The St. Louis Cardinals will be at New York to face the Yankees tonight at 5:10, Saturday at 11:10 and Sunday night at 6:10. All the games can be heard on KSMO Radio.

Jason Vargas threw 7 2/3rds inning of shutout ball and Kansas City scored two runs in the 1st inning on RBIs from Lorenzo Cain and Salvador Perez as they beat Oakland, 3-1. The Royals start a three game series with LA Angels of Anaheim tonight.
