GRO Salem is asking “What can YOU do to help clean up our town this month?” Here are some ideas! Sell unneeded items during the City Wide Yard Sale this Saturday and you may find some extra cash for what you may have considered trash! The week of October 9th through the 13th is “Fall Cleanup Week” in the City of Salem. That means on your regular trash pickup date, the city will do free curbside pick-up of yard waste, old appliances and other big items. Now’s the time to get rid of some of those things in your yard or home you’ve been meaning to get rid of. If you can’t move some of those items and need help, call GRO Salem at 453-2500 to request assistance. Also, just walk around your neighborhood or town pick up any trash you come across. You can also help out a neighbor by raking leaves in their yard or pulling leaves out of their gutters! There are lots of volunteer events already scheduled for October, but if you have a need at your home, call GRO Salem at 453-2500 for some help with clean-up projects or tasks.
